  • Survival

In the world where people look for love and wander for happiness,

For some people survival is what they can ask for the best.

    Where thoughts are suicidal

And expectations are ready to grab your neck,

Where no one believes in Bible, devil is not their rival and it’s easy to sit back and regret,

Survival seems like a mission difficult to conquest.

Walking up every morning and knowing all you can do is null,

When your skull hurts, your will is shattered and your thoughts are mostly dull…

All i can say is don’t feel miserable,

    I know miracles feel impossible

    And all the dreams unattainable,

But trust me when I say, after the darkest nights, the mornings are beautiful than ever.

Who told you the journey from catterpillar to butterfly is comfortable?

Even if you can’t break mountains and do everything that’s nice,

You always fall before you rise,

    Said a man so wise.

So hope for the best and continue to fight your battles,

Because sometimes just to breathe and survive is all that matters.

  • Cup of Tea

Come, share a cup of tea with me
And tell me about, how terrible tea I make.
Tell me about how your day went
Talk to me about all you love and all you hate
Let’s share some smiles for all it takes
Just a person you listen what you have to say.

  • Set Them Free

    The more you cage them,
The more they struggle to fly.
    Force your will on them,
And they will be bound to lie.
Love isn’t a chain, made to tie people around
It’s a silk thread, mend to attach your heart to the ground.
Set them free, let them explore their destiny,
They will find their way back if they were meant to be.
If they’re yours that you believe,
Set them off and they will never leave.
And anyhow if they didn’t find their way back,
Then they just weren’t meant to be.

  • Letter to Father

    Dear Father,

    I am your daughter,
I don’t look like you much
But I love you too much.
I am wordless to tell you how I feel,
After all it’s a real world and not reel.
All I can say is, you made me a fighter,
Taught me that behind the clouds, the sun is always brighter,
From crawling to walking to running to dancing
You helped me grow and become wiser
I was nice but you made me nice-er.
Instead of becoming my hero you taught me to be one for myself,
I am Your daughter and I am too blessed.

  • Too Late To Escape

    I am a magic, you can’t hold
I am a story, you have been told
I am an imagination, you want to believe
I am a nightmare, you willing want to live
I am a dance, you’ll do till your feet freeze
I am a cold autumn breeze
I am the sun , that will burn your skin
I am one-of-kind ,is what I have always been listening
I am what you’ll love and I am all you’ll hate
I am what you’ll carve and can be used as a bait
Be wise before you enter the gate
Because once you enter, it will be too late to escape.

  • Home Can Be A Person Too

    By Kulsoom Abid

The one you can be yourself with, without the fear of being judged,
The one you can travel miles with, even after knowing the roads will be rough.

Not only the one you remember when you are happy,
But the one you go to when you are sad,
The one that’s ready to love you, even when you are bad.

When the world is full of lies,
The one with a truthful and friendly smiles.
The one you can trust to never leave your hand,
Even if you are miles apart, you know by your side they will forever stand.
The one who wipes you tears and console your heart when it’s tired,
That person who is ready to be with you without ever being retired.

You know when you messed up
All night they will stay up
    Until your pain goes down,
They are all ears for you
When you want to pour your secrets
    From dusk till dawn.

The one who is your comfort and the one who is your peace,
The one you can be ugly around and the one that can help you sleep.

The one that you never run from
But the one you always run to,
They say, ” Home can be a person too”
And for me, that person is You.

  • Most Awaited Beginning

    And the 2020 ends.
It has been an absolutely crazy year. There was pain, sorrow, achievements, celebrations, everything. I have lost a few most trusted, cherished and loved people. I have experienced the worst betrayal I could imagine. But I picked myself up and I am proud of myself. And as the year ends, I am letting go of all the bad memories and keeping the lessons. I am grateful to those who left and those who stayed. This year was totally sick. We actually realized that nothing is impossible and your confidence and your will power is the most strongest weapon you possess.
Many of us have lost many battles this year maybe some of us are still dealing with stuff but this new year is bringing hope for all of us. 2020 taught us to live and enjoy in simplicity. And no matter what has happened or what will happen in the upcoming year, I am proud of all of you, there has been ups and downs, the journey has been tough and experience-giving but we survived it and I hope we all are proud of ourselves as well as each other. I hope and wish the best for each and every one of you. May this year brings positive energies into your lives. All the best everyone and may the fireflies follow you where butterflies won’t.
    Happy New Year.

  • Feminism and Fake Feminism

    ©Kulsoom Abid

Hey, you all already understood what we are going to talk about today. I feel being a girl myself it’s my moral responsibility to tell people the difference between Feminism and Fake Feminism. I have wanted to write about it for so long and now I’m finally doing it.

Feminism started when the World began to understand the need for Gender Equality. So as far as I know, Feminism is all about social, cultural, economical, educational, political and personal equality of women. Which, in simple words mean that women can live and work wherever she wants, dress up however she desires, eat whatever she craves, choose any occupation she dreams of, study whatever subject she likes, etc.

    It’s basic, right?

That’s how we (the society) define equality.

If men can wear white jeans, a green shirt, a maroon belt, baby pink hat, eat a cheeseburger, study zoology and earn 25,000 per day then women can do it too.

    Now, what’s Fake Feminism?

Well, I would define it as accessing your rights but disrespecting the right of others.

Example: Wearing a neon pink shirt yourself and judging if a guy does the same, saying “ We are girls we can wear that, you are a guy you can’t.”

    Excuse me? Really?

Being a girl I strongly discourage such behaviour. Feminism was for “ equality ” if you don’t want to hear what you can and can not do then you have no right to tell someone else the same.

Another example: If a guy opens up it’s not okay because he is a guy and if a girl opens up then it’s okay because she is a girl. And if a guy opposes this then they say “ Oh shut up, you don’t know what we go through we bleed every month, we carry a baby for nine months ” etc. And then you’ll go posting things about feminism.

See, I respect that, okay, but we girls suffer all this doesn’t mean that boys don’t have problems to deal with or they have no right to open up. I’m not an Anti-feminist or a Pro-male-ist. What I’m trying to say is Feminism gives you equality, not the supreme power to oppress others or disrespect their rights.

Being Feminist is not a bad thing, helping women achieve their dreams or gain self-respect, self-confidence is a commendable act. But if you support a girl to be a soldier, fighter pilot, architect etc then support a guy who wants to be a fashion designer, makeup artist and painter too. Equality is what matters, that’s where this started from.

Please recognise the difference and kindly stop doing this, because it hurts me to watch that we are misusing the thing made for our benefit by using it against someone else.

Humanity is above all. Equality is above all. People supporting and being empathetic to each other is above all. And if you don’t get it, then I have nothing to say to you.

If you think I’m wrong then, please correct me. Your views, reviews and suggestions are most welcomed.

    Thank you for reading.

  • The Velveteen Rabbit

I have been reading children books these days, it’s my “back-to-basics” method. Before the age of 12 I never really liked books so I haven’t read many which brought me here, reading stuff I should have read (10 years) before.

I landed over a book called “The Velveteen Rabbit ”

The Velveteen Rabbit is a British children’s book written by Margery Williams and illustrated by William Nicholson. It chronicles the story of a stuffed rabbit’s desire to become real through the love of his owner. The book was first published in 1922.

Image Source: Google Books. Information Source: Wikipedia.

and I read something I couldn’t keep myself from sharing. So in case, you haven’t read this book or you don’t have time to, I am sharing one of the most beautiful things I came across.

    Here it is.

‘Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.’

‘Does it hurt?’ asked the Rabbit.

‘Sometimes,’ said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. ‘When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.’

‘Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,’ he asked, ‘or bit by bit?’

‘It doesn’t happen all at once,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.

I’m so in love with this book and I recommend this. So if you have time or you are stressed and need a book to just relax your mind, do try this one.

  • The Door

    The Door

They say close the door when someone leaves,
“ it’s easy”, is that what you believe?
How can you close the door,
When you hope the person will return?
How can you close the door,
When you are scared you’ll lose your turn?
The door to my heart will never be closed for you my love,
There are wall too, the ones I wish you cloud climb above.
Maybe I should let go of all the hopes,
But my heart will never let me close the doors.
Even after years of your departure,
The door will still be wide open,
As my heart will forever await your arrival.
    I’m waiting for you,
    Standing near the door,
I hope you will come soon,
At least before I’m no more.
