Welcome to Kulsoomified!
This is a little corner of the internet where I put my thoughts into words, colours, images, and sometimes things that are difficult to explain at all.
I am the author of this blog, Kulsoom Abid.
People know me as a reader, writer, artist, photographer, and an endlessly curious person with lame jokes and sarcasm as a form of humor. I find myself drawn to the little connections between things, like the way a piece of clothing can carry a history, how a poem can hold an entire feeling, how a film can change the way we look at the world, or how art and culture quietly tell us who we are.
My academic background is in English Literature and Public Administration, with diplomas in Digital Marketing, Mass Communication and Fashion Designing.
Over the years, I’ve worked with words in different forms from content creation and digital media to photography and creative projects. But long before any of that became work, writing and making things were just my simple way of understanding the world around me.
That is exactly what Kulsoomified is, at its heart.
It began as a blog in 2020 and has grown into a place for all the things I find worth pausing for from literature, poetry, fashion, art, cinema, culture, history, society, and ideas, to the occasional thought that refuses to leave me alone.
Some things here are carefully researched. Some are deeply personal. Some are simply born out of curiosity. You might find an essay one day, a painting the next, a conversation about a book, a photograph, a piece of history, or an exploration of something I’ve been thinking about.
I don’t think creativity needs to stay inside neat little boxes. It can be chaotic. It can be bold. It can respectfully be whatever you want it to be. Words can be art. Clothes can tell stories. Paintings can ask questions. And sometimes, the most ordinary things can make us look at the world a little differently.
So, this is my space to read, write, make, wonder, question, and share.
Me in a nutshell?
An ambivert who either needs an amazing get-together or a novel with a beautiful story. I spend most of my time observing things and write only what my mind thinks, my soul feels and my heart truly believes. And if something here makes you pause, think, feel, discover something new, or simply see something familiar differently?
Then I’m glad you found your way here.
Welcome to my world.
